Deck Maintenance

The decks below are built from Pressure treated lumber. I have recently affiliated my company with Correct Decks and now offer this exciting product along with other wood and composite materials.

This is the start of a new project 5-1-06.

A before picture.

After the 6x6's are set.

Here we have the completed sub structure.
Built of 2x8 beams and joists.

Here is a Porch / Deck on the front of a home. It includes a rolling gate section that when closed even the mailman doesn't know it is there. We had to add a small hanging sign to hint that the section opens for access.

The porch is stained with solid stain to match the color of the house. I used PVC lattice for the skirting to keep down the maintenance.

The two images below of an 8-sided octagon. This sits next to a pool with the pool deck ladder resting onto the deck. Clean feet in this pool. The step was added the next day.

Here is another deck using some saved parts. We saved the railings and a couple of other pieces of lumber, thus reducing costs for this householder. We don't normally reuse lumber but this was a special case. Note the stringer mounting.

A full view of the deck. The stairs came out nice. 2 x 12 stringers with 2 x 6 treads.
I have extended the stringer and notched it to fit around the face boards to fasten to the joists. Good and solid. Here you can see an added joist to line up with the stringer.
A slightly better view of the Stringer attachment.  We finished the north side with vinyl lattice to help keep the cost down.
